OUR PROCESS
Transforming Accountable Care
The West Health Accelerator at Duke-Margolis is committed to tackling today's most persistent health system challenges, with a focus on strengthening Medicare accountable care, improving care for older adults, advancing brain health, and integrating transformative therapies. The Accelerator is powered by interconnected policy and learning hubs that operate a feedback system where evidence from the field informs policy, and policy guides practice. The policy hub translates complex issues into actionable, consensus-driven reforms, while the learning hub generates real-world evidence and facilitates implementation. Together, they forge a new path to transform care delivery, reduce costs, and improve health outcomes nationwide.

About Us
The West Health Accelerator at Duke-Margolis was born out of a longstanding collaboration between the Duke-Margolis Institute for Health Policy and West Health to advance accountable, value-based care. Since 2018, the two organizations have combined Duke-Margolis’ deep policy expertise with West Health’s practical experience in care delivery and innovation to address some of the most pressing barriers to sustainable health reform. The Accelerator is the next phase of this partnership—transforming their collective insights into action by strengthening the infrastructure, evidence, and alignment needed to scale accountable care models that improve outcomes for patients and reduce costs across the health system.
